Mar a Villa Surf Lodge is a new type of surf lodge. We are not a traditional surf camp or hostel.
We’ll organize surf lessons in order to fit each ones level, and when you come back from the surf lessons you will feel at home! Just chill and relax before dinner and enjoy the Ericeira nightlife! The house has 6 double bed rooms, 4 of them with private bathroom, The house also has a swimming pool, 4 different kind of gardens with different chill to out zones with 2000 square meters, and a 270º degrees ocean view.
We want to offer you an unforgettable experience, whether you are a beginner or a proven surfer. We try above all to have a personalized service and special attention to our guests. If you’ll stay with us once you’ll never want to leave!
Location
In Ribamar, a beautiful traditional fishing village with some of the best surf in Europe. The town is 35 minutes from Lisbon airport. The house is a 2 minutes walking to São Lourenço beach or Coxos beach, and 2 minutes by car to Ribeira D´ílhasl surf beach & 10 minutes by car from Foz do Lizandro surf beach. We also stay near of the best fish restaurants, local markets, pharmacy and bars; and are a 5 minute drive to Ericeira's old town centre.

Best time to go depends on your level above. July, August & September are the peak tourist months.
This is where you surf Europe's best coast line and let the fun begin.There are over 12 surf breaks along the Ericeira coast, with different options for all standards. With so much choice you'll feel like a kid in a sweet shop! The area was introduced in the Stormriders Surf Guide to Europe with the heading "Enter the Heartland".
World Surf Reserve
In 2011 it was awarded the title of 'World Surf Reserve', there are only 2 other places in the world that share the title: Santa Cruz, US and Manly, Australia.
If it is your first surfing holiday to Ericeira then head straight to Foz do Lizandro and Sao Juliao beaches south of town, they are perfect beginner and intermediate surf spots. Closer to town is Praia do Sul. Another great beginner beach breaks. All best at mid tide but surfable at high and low tide also.
For Intermediates you have the reliable and safe reef break Ribeira d'Ilhas, which host the WSL World qualifying series surf championships every year. And for the more adventurous you have the world class Coxos. That's just naming a few, there are too many surf breaks to mention here!
Don't forget to explore further up the coast - 25 minutes away is Santa Cruz and an hour away is Peniche, home to the World renowned Supertubos and host of the Rip Curl Pro since 2009. 30 minutes south of Lisbon is the Cascais coast with the famous Praia do Guincho surf beach. And when north winds are blowing you can venture further south towards Carcevelos beach and the other surf spots along the Lisbon coast.

the accommodation was in a very good condition. clean and smells good. pool was cleaned everyday. good breakfast. frieny host and his crew.
the town was lovely. id go again to the town for sure.
the house was near to the beach around 10 mns walk
restaurants were walking distance although the host was kind enough to drive us around

How did you like the accommodation?
The villa is amazing! It's really beautiful! The rooms are nice and the bathrooms are even nicer. It's very clean and everything is new. They put a lot of effort in decoration and you discover little things every day. The pool is really relaxing also! Ribamar is really calm, a nice little town with a few restaurants. It's not that far from Ericeira, but you'll have to need a car to go there.
How were the surf lessons?
In the beginning the surf lessons are a bit chaotic (because there are a lot of people and the instructors are busy with other things), but once you're in the water the instructors try to help you as much as possible.
