Hazards:
There is a bit of a rip right by the cliffs.

As the Stormriders Surf Guide says “Donegal Bay is one of the few places in Europe to warrant the title ‘a surfer’s paradise"
Tullan Strand surf beach in Bundoran is one of the most consistent beginner's waves in the country. It is the perfect place to start, and is great for intermediates with a perfect wedge appearing off the cliff.
A few km's north is Rossnowlagh, said to be the first beach ever to be surfed in Ireland back in the 60s. It’s a perfect place for beginners and intermediate surfers to polish their skill. Don’t forget to have a drink in the legendary Surfers Bar before you leave!
In the centre of Bundoran town is The Peak, one of Ireland's best wave. Numerous World and European surfing competitions have been held here, it’s a perfect place to watch the locals rip it up.
40 minutes south of Bundoran, in Sligo, is the surf promenade at Strandhill, a very popular surf beach with surf shops and the famous Strand Bar.
For intermediates and advanced there are countless choices, it’s all about exploring and finding out for yourself. Mullaghmore head is Ireland’s premier big wave spot, made famous when local tow-in surfers caught 60 foot waves. Drive further west in Sligo and you will reach Easkey, home to Ireland’s most famous wave.

How did you like the accommodation?
Great place in a fantastic location. Has everything you might need. Was able to watch the rugby in comfort at night while being first on the waves in the morning. Surfers bar is only a stones throw away. Highly recommended.

How did you like the accommodation?
Neil is disarmingly gentle, easy-going and generous with his time - we came to learn to surf for 2 days (children 8 and 13) and could not have chosen a more convenient location within the walls of his own surf school and rental location on Rossnowlagh beach. Happy Days, Happy Memories.

How did you like the accommodation?
Awesome accommodation; two minute walk to the beach - you could do it without shoes! Loads of nice spots to eat within walking distance, really lovely beach (Rossnowlagh), short drive to supermarkets etc. The apartment itself was really lovely, very bright and private but still maintaining the feeling that you are connected to the surf school. Neil had kindly provided bath towels, hairdryer, stock food items etc, all that you really need to bring were beach towels.
How were the surf lessons?
The morning of the lesson there were only tiny waves, but this worked out to be beneficial as we were three beginner surfers. The instructor was really great, he spent time equally between all of us (there were five in total in the class) and gave us some really good tips about the area, as we had never been to Donegal before.

How did you like the accommodation?
Neil's place is really nice, comfortable and clean. Close to the beach and the hills. Lovely place for relaxing and surfing (if you like it!) It has a pleasure to be there!
How were the surf lessons?
A large family group of us between the ages of 10 and 60+ had a 2 hour surfing lesson on Sunday. The instructors were very pleasant and showed us various surfing techniques on the beach.
After a ten minute lesson on dry land we were straight into the water to put our new found knowledge to practice.
The instructors kept everyone safe and helped those that needed/wanted it. The 2 youngest in the group were naturals.
Have to say it was the best experience I've had in a long time. I've a newfound respect for surfers, they must be so fit, my body aches so much.
Can't wait to do it again though! This surfing school is highly recommended.
