The Good Feeling is a hostel and guesthouse in Sagres, in the Algarve region of Portugal.
It’s a comfortable, friendly home away from home where you can meet new friends, learn to surf, do all kinds of fun activities and have an awesome time!
It was created by two Portuguese surfers and is now managed by two of their friends, who also live and surf in the area. We’ll make sure you have all the information you need to make the most of your stay in this beautiful part of Portugal.
Every day we take our guests to the Algarve’s best beaches—for free! Depending on the conditions and where you want to go, we’ll find the ideal spot and drive you there for the day. This allows you to not only surf awesome waves, but also discover different parts of our incredible surroundings.
We also offer other services, including stand to up paddle (SUP) trips, surf equipment rental, surfing lessons, yoga and outdoor activities, so there’s always something to do!
Our accommodation is top to notch: clean and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a Smart TV and, of course, high to speed WiFi.
Location
We’re located right in the middle of the beautiful southwestern area of the Algarve. Our central location makes it easy to reach all the nearby towns, beaches and other natural wonders of this region.
The Costa Vicentina Natural Park stretches all the way from here up to Sines on Portugal’s western coast, which means we’re surrounded by beautiful, pristine nature. It’s a great area to go for walks and hikes, watch birds and other animals, explore incredible beaches, surf some of the world’s best waves and have an altogether unforgettable experience.
What’s around here?
The village of Raposeira has three restaurants, one local bar and a small supermarket.
In the nearby town of Vila do Bispo you'll find a local market with fresh produce and seafood, as well as a Lidl supermarket.

This area of Portugal is a year round surf destination and has the warmest sea water in the country. In the summer months you can surf in just shorts or a shortie and it doesn't get dark until 10pm so you can surf all day long! The coastline is part of the protected natural park with 50 kilometres of protected beaches with no large towns or high rise tourist accommodations. Instead you will discover beautiful pristine beaches and small traditional towns a far cry from the main overrun Algarve tourist spots.
Amado beach is the areas best beginner/intermediate surf beach and a great starting point. Amado is surrounded by many other great surf breaks with options for all standards. Praia da Cordoama is one of the most picturesque beaches in Portugal, a long stretch of sand protected by cliffs, a great intermediate spot. Praia do Castelejo beside it is even more consistent.
There's a dozen beaches further north all worth exploring including Arrifana & Amoreira, two very consistent beginner/intermediate beach breaks.
Furthest south is the laid back surf town of Sagres. The beaches East of Sagres such as Zavial & Martinhal are usually calm and require a big swell to work, they are a great alternative if the surf on the beaches on the West coast are too big. There are many hidden spots around Sagres some of which will require an SUV to get too but are well worth it especially for the more experienced.

How did you like the accommodation?
The hostel was in a great location, close to a bus stop, closet to a little Spar.
Carlos cooks every night (for 7Euro's) and the food is fantastic, he's off on Thursday nights, however if you come out the hostel and walk to the right, about 150m there is a fantastic restaurant there.
How were the surf lessons?
Surf lessons were great! so easy that the boards and wetsuits were down by the beach already so we could jut arrive and go surf (beginner lessons)

How did you like the accommodation?
Great time, Good Feelings!!!!
Two of us stayed here for 10 days in August in a Studio Room. The entire place was clean and well maintained. We cooked our own breakfast each morning or you can buy it for €3. We either cooked or checked out the restaurants in the area in the evening. You can put your name down for an evening meal in the hostel for €7. Board and wetsuit rental is available. There is a free transfer to the beach at 11am each day if you do not have a car. A car is really recommended though as you will see so much more. There is a onsite bar at night. Free wifi in the main house. Hugo & Miguel were awsome always helpful.

How did you like the accommodation?
The Hostel is very nice and atmosphere is friendly. There are very few rules and everything is based on respect with each other. The room we had was a studio, which for a couple is the best choice. The hostel offer plenty of things to do, surf class, Sup and shuttle to Sagres.
How were the surf lessons?
The lessons have been a pleasure for us. The instructor looked after us giving suggestions and tips. The beach ideal for beginners

How did you like the accommodation?
Higly recommend the hostel! Beautiful place, good feeling ; ) and relaxing atmosphere. Rooms all new and cosy. Best: Lisette is all around: Reception, if you have a question she will be there for an answer or solution and she is a tour guide, too! :) she has an excellent knowledge all around the Algarve and all hidden places next to Vila do Bispo. Love it!!

Best hostel ever!
We had a week here and it was perfect. Great base for your surf trip! We were really sad to leave x the atmosphere every evening was hilarious. We also enjoying spending time riding around looking for waves with lisette. The free transfer to the beach was awesome!
