A peaceful, unpretentious and clean surf house for grown to ups set in a quiet neighbourhood ideal for a good night's sleep ready for an early surf.
The warm vibrant outdoor patio area is equipped with a plancha (grill) where we have joint bbqs, a great place for those summer evenings relaxing, waxing your board, sharing a drink and talking waves with other guests.
We can organise surf, yoga lessons and massages on request. We're there to help you find the best bars, restaurants and fun activities in the area as well as guide you with your future travel options in France.
The room comes with bed linens and a bath towel. There is free tea and coffee all day, wifi etc.
In season we accept families with older teenagers. We can rent the whole house out of season (not summer, Easter or Quikpro).
For extreme out of season bookings to for example March to November we only accept bookings for 2 or more people staying a minimum of 3 nights or 3 people for 2 nights etc.
Location
h2o is slap bang in the town centre of Capbreton just over 1km away from the nearest surf spot to Santocha and La Piste. Easy access to the happening to bars in Hossegor and surfing on the northern beaches.
Capbreton is a traditional French town with a picturesque marina, with a plethoras of bars, restaurants, bakeries, home to made fast to food bars, take to away pizzas just 2 minutes walk from the house.
There are cycle lanes throughout the town and free street parking is available around town and near all surf spots.
Next door are Hossegor and Seignosse. Hossegor beach has other world class surf spots like La Gravière and La Nord. You will probably also try out its exciting and renowned night life. The boho town of Seignosse ocean and Les Bourdaines beach is also known as the French California with long stretching white sand.
h2o is a quick 10 minute walk from the skate park and stadium where you can play football and try out pelote basque..
Capbreton is 30 min from Bayonne and 45 minutes drive from Biarritz and 50 minutes from Spain.

The price here is for the whole house per night. If you would like to stay for a week or more out of the summer season, the Quiksilver Pro or Easter we are open to an offer.
The price also includes fresh bed linen and bath towels, a place to store your boards and bikes, wifi, internet tv etc. There is an outdoor patio for relaxing, waxing boards etc.

The house :
There are 4 bright and spacious bedrooms : 2 bedrooms have 2 single beds each, one bedroom has 3 single beds and the big room has 4 single beds. Any 2 single beds can be transformed into a double, so we can set up the beds to your liking.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped with an induction oven and hob, dish to washer and 2 fridges.
There is a large collection of dvds and a tv with internet in the cosy corner.
There is one bathroom (shower + toilet + sink) and one toilet room (toilet + sink) in the house. There is also a fun hot private shower in the storage area.

Santocha
Level: All Levels
Probably the most surfed peak in Capbreton, still holds well on a big swell and offers some protection from the north winds, normally always good banks here and an awesome place to get photographed as the surf club overlooks the peak. Get there early if you are driving, only a limited amount of parking spaces. Good showers, board hire and snack shack.
La Piste
Level: Intermediate
A favourite with the surf mags for pics because of the bunkers on the beach, also home break to Mikey Picon and Jeremy Flores. You can park the other side of the dunes (parking La Savanne). Showers, toilets, board rental, snack shack in season.
VVF or Oceanides
Level: Advanced
Easy access, head for the camper van area (brown sign) , there is a car park right by the dunes. In high season you can rent boards from here. A good spot to see Slater, and others free surfing around the European leg of the world champs. Getting further south so less protected for beginners. Showers, toilets, board rental, snack shack in season
Le Prevent
Level: Beginner
Right in front of the Baya Hotel and Sports Rehabilitation Centre, can be good on a big swell and offers protection from north and south winds. Lefts and rights for beginners and intermediates.
Hossegor and Seignosse waves
Level: All Levels
Surf Breaks Hossegor & Seignosse
The Hossegor & Seignosse surf breaks are a 20 mins walk or a 10 min cycle on one our Beach Cruizers with surfboard rack.
Watch for rip currents, normally seen by the absence of waves. Ask the local surf instructors.
Plage Sud
Parking on the side of the road is ok, just get there early in high season. This is the place to come if everywhere to the north is closing out. There is generally a smaller wave here, normally favouring long lefts for some reason, and works best on a low tide. Lots of surf schools here, and you can get lessons or hire a board. Good showers and toilets.
La Graviere
A good place for short fast hectic barrels. A popular spot with bodyboards and skimboarders too. On bigger swells the outer bar begins working and it is common to see tow in surfers strapping in. Parking is right by the beach, you can rent boards here. A favourite spot for the Quiksilver Pro France to take place.
La Nord
This is a heavy wave even when it looks small, probably the most famous wave in the area, most of the local sponsored riders can be seen here on a good day, also a tow in spot on bigger swells. Another favourite spot for the Quiksilver Pro France. Showers.
Les Culs Nus (photo)
Translated as ‘bare bums’ this is the nudist beach (be reassured there are more swimsuits than birthday suits) it has some awesome waves if the swell direction is right, with its own parking area on the other side of the dune. Showers.
Les Estagnots / Les Bourdaines / la Penon
These three different spots probably pick up a bit more swell than the town beaches and like a more northerly swell, the banks move around so much be sure to check them all as you could overlook something that no one else has seen. Showers, snack places, toilets.

The beaches along the Hossegor and Capbreton coast stretch continuously north and south offering a huge choice of surf for everyone. Capbreton has 7 km of beaches starting at the busy side of town and extending south where sand dunes and pine forest merge gently with the incredible beauty of the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. The beaches by the main town are perfect for beginners and intermediate surfing standards
Across the harbour is the famous surf town of Hossegor, where European surfing really took off. The main stretch of beach, Plage Centrale and La Sud, beside the main promenade are great place to learn to surf in Hossegor. For those more experienced there's the opportunity to surf the breaks where the Worlds No.1 surfers duke it out every September in the World Championship Tour, the legendary La Nord and La Graviere.
The beaches reach Seignosse a few km’s north – here Les Bourdaines is perfect for longboarders, and Le Penon is a real quality beach break that’s a bit quieter and just as much fun. Further south is Biarritz with its classic waves and stunning cliffs. And down by St.Jean de Luz is Belharra, one of the worlds most impressive big wave surf spots.

How did you like the accommodation?
The house is close to everything, especially the bakery for French bread. The trip to the beach was easy on the bikes which were also used to get to Hossegor and Coolin :) International crowd and the hosts helped us make travel arrangements to our next stop in Spain.

Three cyclists staying at this beautiful place next to the sea called Capbreton, we are not surfers but bikers if you get by Capbreton you have a cool place to stay and hosts that care about you....
