The Kamafari Surfcamp Bali, is the perfect place to learn how to surf in a chilled atmosphere and spend an awesome time with others.
We are surrounded by a beautiful garden with seaviews and offer a large main house, 4 Wood Bungalows and 2 Deluxe Bungalows.
For beginners and lightly advanced surfers, the Camp and the surf lessons offer a safe and relaxed surrounding to get in touch with the beauty of surfing.
We also welcome guests, who want to use the Camp as a base to check out the island – for intermediate surfers the world class surf breaks, the temples, white sand beaches and sunsets.

The Camp is located on Balis southern peninsula called Bukit.
Woldclass Surfbreaks like Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Balangan and Bingin, as well whitesand beaches are only 5 minutes away from the Camp.

In between 10 km are 15 woldclass Surfbreaks for every skill level. The waves are very good all year round and the water temperature is always 28°C. Bali is a paradise for surfers and its not easy to find another place in the world, where you can learn surfing that easy.

Season
Year round Surf destination. April to November is the dry season and most popular time. Jan-Feb expect heavy afternoon rains but still plenty of surf and less crowds.
Bali benefits from an almost endless supply of Southern Ocean groundswell meaning you are very rarely disappointed. SW swells wrap around the Bukit peninsula creating an array of world class lefts including the infamous Uluwatu which is Bali's most consistent wave. It is for the more experienced surfers and it tends to section when it's smaller which does spread the crowds out by allowing take offs almost anywhere down the line. The wave is broken down into three sections, Inside corner, Racetracks and Outside corner.
Further down the Bukit peninsula you can find Padang Padang which is home to Bali's most desired barrel and a more chilled out Bali surf holidays place to stay than the busier Kuta. It is a beautiful white sandy beach with reef out back for the more advanced, while in front it is perfect for beginners.
Bingin reef is a fun short tube wave, that can get crowded.
Dreamland beach is next in line and is one of the more user friendly beaches on the Bukit. It runs from deep water and can often be a shore break where you need to avoid creasing your board or hitting one of the many tourists playing on the inside.
Balangan is slightly more secluded with another perfect looking left point. It fires when the swell direction is big enough and coming from the right direction.
For beginners & intermediates there are many quality beach breaks around including the long beach break in the centre of Kuta and up to Legian. Further north west is Canggu which has a better mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced waves than the high performance waves on the Bukit Peninusla.
On the east side of the island you can find Nusa Dua, Sanur & further up Keramus. This side of Bali tends to work better in the Wet season (October to April).
Across from the Bali Peninsula is Grajagan or G-Land. A much more remote spot than the rest of Bali, surrounded by thick jungle and wild animals. It is often referred to as the best wave in the world. A long very consistent wave with a variety of different sections. but mostly for experienced surfers.

How did you like the accommodation?
Our stay at Kamafari was just awesome, i met such nice people and learned how to surf. The staff were friendly, Made and Wayan were great surf guides, always smiling while i got knocked about by the waves! Food, view and all the beautiful surrounds make it a special place, so i definitely hope to com back some day.

Awesome view point to the beaches, great people and friends, amazing breakfast and cool spirit! we spent 3 weeks there and we could stay longer! it's a great place to meet people, everyone surfs together, have breakfast and dinner together! it's simply awesome! We miss this place so much! we will come back for sure!

How did you like the accommodation?
The experience was good, it was unclear that it was a shared bathroom. All in all perhaps I'm just too old for this type of easy breezy travel, but did enjoy myself and everyone was very nice, and once upon a time (in my twenties) it would have been perfect.
How were the surf lessons?
The instructors did a very good job with many different levels of surfers, and I felt I had a good amount of individual attention. Beaches were great-- it's Bali!

I'm definetly going back to this surf camp in my next trip to Bali. Amazing place, with a beautiful view to the countryside and the ocean at the back. The staff members are the best, super friendly and always with a smile on their faces. The surf coaches are excellent and have a really funny sense of humor, so if its your first time surffing you'll have a great time with them in the water!
The rooms are really nice and clean. The food is also delicious and the service is excellent!
If you are travelling by yourself its the best place to meet up with cool people and share your passion for surffing together.

How did you like the accommodation?
I would recommend this camp to anybody.Everybody was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were nice and food was great. I had a short stay as unfortunately became unwell while there. The staff went out of their way to help me and ensure I received appropriate care. As my stay was shortened they kindly did everything they could to compensate. I will definitely be there next time I'm in Bali! Thanks!

I've been to this surf camp for 3 times and I love it! Everytime I have to go back to this place, the people are so nice and the camp looks amazing! Breakfast is the best and you have with a great view! This camp is located by all the best beaches, you can also rent a scooter at the camp. The people who come to the camp are always really nice and I always make new friends. There is no better surf camp then Kamafari! Love, Claire X
