About
Lisbon Surf Connection was founded in June 2015 by António Ribeiro and Tomás Valente. Both were part of the portuguese national team. Tomás is still a professional surfer and António has a master degree in digital marketing. Our main goal is to provide safety and fun for everyone that comes to surf with us, and no forgetting to pass all our knowledge about technique and finding the apropriate conditions for your surfing level.

- Due to changing tides exact surf lesson start times are not decided until the week of your lesson.
- After you book we will contact you the week of your lesson to tell you your lessons start time.
Kids Surf
Classes for kids starting at the age of 5. Safety is our main priority for the kids, and we provide a teacher for each 3 kids. 2 Hours of class, surfboard, wetsuit, and insurance included.
Beginner Surf
Our classes include surfboard, wetsuit and insurance. Our ratio is 1 teacher to 5 students. We try to focus in the level of each one, and make them progress one by one. 2 hours of class. We always find the best place to have class. 2 Hours of class, surfboard, wetsuit, and insurance included.
Intermediate Surf
We pickup the students and bring them to type of waves they like most. With this option you can surf everywhere in Portugal with us. We normally surf in the lisbon area, ericeira, peniche, alentejo and algarve. Classes can be 2 hours or all day, depending on what you chose. Surfboard, Wetsuit and insurance included.
Advanced Surf
Tomás Valente or António Ribeiro (techers) are always surfing the best waves in Portugal, so if your interested to progress or surf some big waves we will find a good deal for you. We can film and edit your waves and focus on errors and make you progress. Classes can be 2 hours or all day, depending on what you chose. Surfboard, Wetsuit and insurance included.
Private Surf
Classes can be 2 hours or all day, depending on what you chose. Surfboard, Wetsuit and insurance included.
Surf Guide
We can go surf everywhere in Portugal, north to south, and the amount of days that you want. Classes can be 2 hours or all day, depending on what you chose. Surfboard, Wetsuit and insurance included.
SUP
Come and enjoy our amazing ocean and learn to ride the Sup in a perfect environment between the Atlantico ocean and the tagus river. Private classes or group classes from 2 to 5 students per teacher. The Lesson includes Sup board, wetsuit, insurance and certified teacher.

Downtown Lisbon city itself does not have a beach and walking around siteseeing you may be oblivious to the fact that dozens of beautiful white sandy surf beaches are only a 5 minute car drive away (Or 4 train stops!)
The surrounding beaches pick up all the swells the Atlantic have to offer making it one of the most consistent surf destinations in the World.
The area has a good selection for all standards. Closest to the city would be Caxias & Santo Amaro de Oeiras. Caxias is a beautiful beach that on its day can produce perfect lefthander barrels. Oeiras is more of a winter wave and is one of the best waves in Portugal.
Next stop is Carcavelos, probably Portugal's most famous wave. Its one of the best beach breaks in Europe and regularly hosts National competitions. It suits all standards, a perfect place to learn and a great place to score some fast beach barrels with multiple peaks along the 1km stretch of beach.
There are many other spots along the coastline that runs from Lisbon out to Estoril & Cascais. Long boarders will love Sao Pedro and short boarders will thrive on spots like Poca and Sao Joao. Then on the other side of Cascais there is the stunning long white sandy Guincho beach, one of Portugal's most consistent surf spots, usually best in the morning as it can be exposed to afternoon onshore winds.
Across the river Tejo in Setubal, a 20 minute drive away, is the less crowded Costa de Caparica. Perfect for beginner/intermediates as the man made jetties create nice consistent waves. The beach stretches for 30kms and all of it is surfable!
Lisbon is also a great base to explore other regions. The surf mecca of Ericeira is only 35 minutes drive away and 1 hour north is Peniche, host of the WSL World Tour every October.

- Your balance is due when you arrive at the beach.
Cancelling
- To cancel go to the MyAccount section and log in or register and you can cancel from within your account.
- Your deposit is non refundable but can be used for the same property/surf school within one year of your original booking.
What happens if the surf school cancel the Surf Lessons?
In the rare occasion that conditions do not allow for the surf lesson to go ahead you will be given a full refund.

How were the surf lessons?
Beach was good. The waves weren’t great but as someone who doesn’t surf a lot smaller waves weren’t bad. When we got out there Tomas was helpful in fixing what I already know and helping me get up more. I had surfed before but he taught me some new techniques to riding the waves. It was a lot of fun.
